Get creative with a living wall and pond planter

With more people loving the joy of gardening it’s the perfect time to get creative

Living walls, or vertical gardens are becoming more popular with those that don’t have much space in their garden or even back yard, they are a great way of adding splashes of colour to a drab space or covering up unsightly walls making it more of a feature and calming space.

A range of herbaceous perennials, grasses, small shrubs, herbs and even fruit and vegetables can be used. included scented plants, seasonal flowers and bulbs to add colour and encourage wildlife to your garden.

We have created an area in our Todmorden store from old pallets.  Lining the areas needed and then planting up.  Also including a crate lined and filled with water and pond plants.

Water adds a new dimension to any garden and our pond-in-a-pot is the ideal place to grow any small aquatic plants. These pond planters are a quick and easy to make and requires minimal care. The larger the container, the more impressive the display, although it’s best to limit yourself to one or two well-chosen types of plant. Use too many and your pond will quickly become cluttered. Add rocks and other items to add different dimensions to your new pond planter.

You will be able to make these from all sorts of items as long as they are lined and the water cannot leak out.
