Expressive Skies And Textured Landscapes In Watercolours

This one-day painting class is a fantastic introduction to exploring watercolour painting, with many exciting painting techniques and composition ideas to try out.

Starting with the basics, you will learn how to blend colour on a wet and dry painting surface. From there you will learn how to create beautiful textures using different tools and materials to create some stunning effects. You will be taught with clear and easy to understand tuition from local artist Rachael Elwell.

Using live demonstrations, and the basic principles of painting with watercolours, you  will be able to combine your newly learned skills to paint a final landscape artwork to take home.

Course Content

• Basic colour theory and mixing,
• Practicing different brush work techniques such as blending, layering, and texture work
• Creating a final painting with your newly learned skills from a choice of floral subject matter (working from a photo).
