March to May, 10″/25cm apart and 3″/8cm Deep
Soil/Position
Sun or partial shade. Any good garden soil.
Expert advice
Keep plants well watered. The plant is mainly grown for the decorative ‘lanterns’. Cut whole plant in late summer when the leaves die down and the ‘lanterns’ show colour. After tearing off the leaves stems are hung upside down for drying.
